I came by this as something of a "hobson's choice" because I
was struggling to find a camera in Reading for the next round of the
challenge and this was all I could find. I have to admit that I wasn't
expecting much in terms of performance. These Praktica's might have a
pedigree name but they are not up to the standard of the classic SLR's.
However, I have been pleasantly surprised and it has turned in some very
good images, not up with best but certainly more than acceptable. The
camera itself feels very light and flimsy, this one has already got a
broken battery compartment, but mechanically it is very good. The lens and
wind motor is very quick and quiet and the AF seems to be pretty much on
the mark, only fooled on one shot where there was not a lot of contrast
for it to focus on. Putting it's minor faults aside I would say that this
is a good little camera and I might take it out again sometime.
