The camera looks to be in perfect working order, however, the rewind seems to be missing an attachment that allows me to turn it. Thanks to the help of a visitor from Australia I now have that means. Its a quite ingenious system of gearing which allows the wind lever to reverse action and rewind the film. The lever below the lens not only releases the film for rewinding but it also engages the reversing gear. Now, armed with new found knowledge, I can load film and take it out for a test.

I have finally got around to taking this out with me and as expected I have not been disappointed. The built in light meter seems to cope with most eventualities, exposure problems being confined to problem areas such as strong backlight. The Agnar lens living up to expectation with some superbly sharp pictures. The 300th top speed would have been limiting but for the fact that the iris would close down to f22 which allowed for shots in blazing sunlight. In fact I particularly liked the aperture control which is stepless, allowing for easy adjustment with the TTL meter. Once again here is an Agfa Silette which does exactly what you want it to do with the minimum of fuss and with maximum efficiency.
